Saw good number of articles on YOU telecom, so thought of sharing my experience too.
Mine is with TATA INDICOM.
I feel like they have recruited some +2 passed kids for there customer support center
Case1: (~37 calls)
I asked them to change the user info; it was in the name of my roommate. I wanted the bill in my name so that I can get it reimbursed from office. It took my some 37 calls to there call center to get name right at least on bills
On account info the name is still old & there engineer call me by old name only.
Case2: (~13 calls)
ICMP was not working one day; I called up & told them.
The girl asks me to clear the browser cache & reboot the router. Its there general way of troubleshooting
When I told my connection is terminating on NAT box, she said she will book a ticket. Next day network engineer calls me to ask what is ICMP
Case3: (rather a funny case, >24 calls till yet)
My cable used to get cut on some nearby building; it took them ~6 days each time to reconnect. I also asked them to change the (physical) route of cable, what they did is changed my (logical) ROUTE & gave me another IP. Next month I was billed for 2000 extra. When I asked why, the answer was I asked them for an extra static IP. I'm still fighting the issue.

Bad services of tata indicomm
I an am a suferer of poor TATA services for following reasons
I am a subscriber to their postpaid connection with tel. no. 07622-645153.
The connection was taken some 5 months back.. While taking connection, TATA people gave a refurbished set( in place of a new white 350T as demanded by me) with a request that as there was shortage of sets presently, the same would be replaced by a new set very soon. I believed them and took the connection and I did not worry because the set was working.
However, within a month's time the set got defective with a typical hanging problem. On complaint, it was replaced again by a refurbished set. That set again gave problem related to malfunctioning of a switch and on complaint, it was also replaced again by a refurbished set. Similar thing happened four times and today it is the fifth set with me within a span of five months. Every time when the problem is faced of one or other type, the service remains affected for two -three days. The present set goes OFF very frequently sometimes without even being used for one hour.
In such scenario, this time I have insisted TATA people to give a new set only. But they have not done so. As the service is fully unsatisfactory, I have not paid my dues with a request to stop subscription, but TATA people at Katni have not agreed to even take the application. The service is presently suspended due to non of my faults.
In such situation, I am being forced to seek legal and other helps.
