YOU Telecom (Iqara) trying to improve their services!!

28th September, I get a call from Mr. Satish. "Sir, we are changing the loop of your connection and hence your IP address will change. May I go ahead." I give him a go ahead. After sometime, I get a new IP Address and the speed has improved from the previous ~5 to 10 kilo Bytes per second to now around ~20 to 25 kilo Bytes per second. I told him, I shall monitor the speed for one week from now and then revert back to you. A similar feedback was sent on e-mail to Mr. EVS Chakravarthy.

29th September, in the afternoon I receive a call again from Mr. Satish, "Sir, can we come over to your office to see the connection speed?" I answered affermative!

Mr Satish, Mr. Saurabh Thakur and one more gentelman (I am sorry sir, I missed your name) walk into my office in the evening. I set up two machines, one laptop on direct connection to YOU Telecom (Iqara) and the other through my office network on VSNL.

I ask them to instruct me on how to proceed to do a speed check! They tell me to download some file from www.download.com. I open the web page, simlutaneously on both the laptops and voila, the page opens faster on the laptop connected to VSNL through my office network and that too a whole ~5-10 seconds faster!!!

Download of a file begins on both the laptops. Both giving me a speed of approx 20 kilo bytes per second. Mr. Satish argues that this is a good enough speed for a single download! I calmly explain to him that the download speed on VSNL is through my internal network and not on a direct connection. I also showed him a download speed of ~30+ kilo Bytes per second on direct connectiont to VSNL.

Mr. Thakur, tried to explain how DSL Technology is better than Cable internet technology!! He said that there is a technological difference between both the ISP's and VSNL is supperior to YOU Telecom (Iqara)!!

I also mentioned that we have regular conferrence calls using Skype and the voice quality changes from best to worst when we switch the connection from VSNL to YOU Telecom (Iqara). Mr. Satish argued that VOIP over a 256 kilo bits per second line is not possible. I wanted to ask him about the network speed that over state run BSNL Lines work on!! But sensing his ignorance on such topics, I decided to just keep quiet.

30 September, we are planning to have a conference call with Mr. EVS Chakravarthy. Hope to make some headway.

YOU or ME? A name change would seem appropriate

I have been following this thread for the last couple of days and I must say this whole YOU! thing looks like a scam. Either they don't have enough qualified people to figure out the basics of networking and ISP business, or they are just cheating people of their money. I happen to know a lawyer who works on such cases and could help you out in filing a suit against these people (on behalf of all YOU customers) and bring them to justice. Please let me know if you will be interested.

cable modem Vs DSL

It is a very intersting debate. I was in US for sometime(3yrs), technology used there for BROADBAND is 80% cable modem & 20% DSL. It goes to prove that cable modem technology is better. reason for this is just not because it is used in US but also for the fact that US uses best technology available.
cable modem is faster & secured & i fear the same cant be said about DSL.World wide cable modem is recognised as the best technology for faster & secured connectivity.I belive 20-25KBps is very good speed in the B/W you are in. I dont think that DSL by any means can be compared to cable modem technology. I belive you need to do some research on this subject & get yourself updated.

Its True You Telecom Is cheating...

I am also planing for the same to take this You telecom in front of Justice. Because I am also having a very bad experience with them.

Previously in the month of Sep 1st Week I had made an inquiry with You telecom talking to there Call Center and I came to know that they are giving promise of 24 Kilobytes Download for 192 Kbps Unlimited plan. After that giving all the deposit and everthing to their sales executive. I got a connection on 9th Sep. night 10:PM the person Mr. Pavan has came to my house to install the connection with the old Modem. I told him at the same time why are you putting old modem he told me that it was given by the company to me. At the same time after installation of the modem he told me to check the speed. Sitting him i checked the speed and i was getting a speed of 4 Kilobytes per second. Seeing this I was really very happy and suddenly I lunched a complaint for the same. He told me that it couldnt be resolved rightnow so He and his incharge will come on nextday but no one came on the next day. Suddenly Mr Srinivas Came to visit my house on Tuesday 12:30 PM and the sit for 6 Hrs (i.e. till 6:30) and then he showed me the speed of 16 Kbps which is not as per my plan but he told that due to more traffic i am able to get this but he told that in the night i will get 24KB. I aggreed and he went. Next day morning when i started my computer again i got the same speed that is 8 Kilobyte. Suddenly I gave a call to srinivas after talking to him he told me to reopen the log which I logged to call center on 9th night. When I gave a call to call center they told me that this log has been already closed on Monday morning at 10:28 by Mr Pavan. I asked to call center executive to check it out properly when he told me that he is very much sure. I told him that ur executive has visited my house on Tuesday then how it is possible that it can be closed on monday. He told me that Mr Pavan has done the same. I put Mr Pavan in the conference with the call center and asked him the same. he aggreed all the things and the same thing was informed to the Hyderabad City Incharge Mr Reddy. But he didnt take anysteps for the same. after 2 days I got the speed of 10 Kbps but then i came to know that nothing is going to happen giving call to you telecom peoples becasue in this thing I made my mobile Bill of Rs 500/-

After completion of 1 Month I have received the bill and again i made a call to call center people and I informed her regarding the speed and to collect the payment.

After getting to this I got a call on Thursday but due to some problem The call got disconnected which i have received from the hyderabad Head Office.

Friday I gave a call to you telecom renewal department and told asked her that whether you had given me a call yesterday. A Lady called Jansi had given me a call I told her regarding the network speed issue and told her to show me the speed of 24 Kilobyte for 1 day in my house and collect the payment.

She told me that she will forward the complaint to the technical person and soon it will be solved. after some time she gave me a call and told that "Sir our technical team persons are telling that what the speed you are getting is ok and you will get that only." and she added that if you want to talk to your technical person Mr. Srinivas I can join him in the conference. I told her that can your technical person Mr. Srinivas how gave you this information can tell this thing infront of your Call Center person.

I told her that You join mr srinivas and I will join your call center executive and let Mr Srinivas give this information that in Hyderabad (Chaitaniyapuri and Dilsukhnagar) area he is going to provide the speed of 10 Kilobytes only. Let your all Call Center executives come to know that you are supplying to the customers.

She kept me on hold and informed the same to Mr. Srinivas but later when she came back to talk with me she told that Mr. Srinivas has gone for a tea Break.

Later she added that she will give me a call back within half an hour when Mr Srinivas is coming back but still today Monday 1:15 Pm no one has given a call back.

But talking to Jansi i got one thing on saturday night that was I got a download speed of 3-4 Kilobytes speed

Really Brother if you are going to have a new connection pls dont take the connection of You Telecom India Private Ltd.(Iqara).

I would really say you one thing dont come to the world of You Telecom.

If you are already a customer of Iqara and facing the problem with You Telecom then please send me a email because if I will be getting more then 100 Emails I am ready to give this issue in Press and News Channels...

We have no mony to be on phone with 1 Rs/min charge for more than 1 hr to be heard by YOU tele customer care

If calling their local office landline no, they are just underestimating us by just hearing whole the issue and at last just say, call our customer care mobile number.

Are they ISP or just agent to Airtel so that they earn lot of money with Airltel.

I just hate YOU tele. It would be good if somebody just help us to fight against YOU tele

Hi Everybody,

I think we need to make sure that company's like You Telecom don't get away with such extortionist behaviors. They have mailed me the same comment - POP and Customer Modem - which is a disastrous.

Non receipt of payment

I am MM pant,taken Iquara connection under DT 100 scheme for which monthly charges Rs. 112/-. I opted it for few month. But during these month I got very bad experience and very poor services from You telecom. Finally I decided to discontinue the connection and given written application on 16th of june 2007. And two and half months are left neither received payment nor any proper reply from you telecom Baroda office. I tried to contact customer care office at ahmedabad but no proper response received. No of times I reqested
to Baroda office but today I do not receov ed payment. I have never
got bad experience like Iquara Baroda Office. If some person asked me for connection of I-Net I will always advice not to take Iquara connection specially through Baroda Office.

Can you share EVS Chakravarthy's email address?

I am another person who is singing the "You Tele" blues.
I am not satisfied with their service and their customer support probably is run in a call center in Lalloo land.
I have sent them continuous reminders via email...and get no response back.
If you have EVS Chakravarthy's email addr pls share it with us, so we can bring these issues to him...before we sign off from You Tele and close the chapter on the horror story.

Pathetic Service

I am a subscriber of YOU or should I say a hapless subscriber.The latest instance of showing no regard for the customers is that from 21st September I am unable to connect.I have been calling up endessly and have been told abt the SLA of 24hrs when a technician will visit my place to rectify the issue.The SLA has lapsed twice but the call center only promises to put a reminder.

Triband is 100 times better than YOU Telecom.This is the biggest scam that they are pulling on us subscribers

Hopless Youtele Broadband

When I took broadband connection, I was told that the data transfer thru their SMTP gateway dos not count towards MBs. They were lying!!

Earlier I was using 3 Months 2 GB Plan for some 600 Rs. Then they found it was expensive for them, so they simply dropped it compelling users to go for higher amounts and less validity.

When I call their customer care, minimum wait time is 5 – 10 minutes
After that the person on other side says “What’s the problem?” Then someone gives me assurance that I will be contacted within 24 Hours. Nobody does so later.

They have frequent fiber cuts and other problems like remoter server did not respond for broadband connection are almost common.

Recently I strongly feel they did a trick (I may be wrong!)..the online renewal thru credit card failed. It did not give me confirmation nor the biller cleared it from its side.
Channel partner person later came to my home and said that there is a problem with online renewal and please make cheque payment. Later I found that after 3 – 4 days online payment was thru (Which under normal circumstances should have cleared within only 24 hours) and also the cheque payment was accepted. Thus I made double payment for same renewal. Then I asked for refund of one of the two. No response except “Department is verifying and you will be contacted within 24 Hours. This continued for days..now they say we will adjust in next renewal!!

Stop payment for online payment transaction (credit card)

If you have done payment using your credit card, you can stop the payment for that transaction. Bank should probably take care of remaining things ;).

YOU's Pathetic Customer Service

I am yet another helpless victim of You Telecom's pathetic customer support service. It was height when my account was suspended inspite of my paying the bills well before the due date.I reside in Pune and for every issue I need to call the Mumbai helpdesk. Just today I was conversing with one Nishant from their customer service cell and inspite of conversing for over 24 minutes, he was not able to provide a resolution. Their site does not have the correct Pune number. There are no escalation points and the people at the office are rude. Do not know how did these people managed to get the ISO 9001:2000 certificates for their so called processes. I am fed up with their misconduct and now am planning to take legal action. Credit card fraud

WWhen I try to pay online i get a pop up saying Additional securirt check and it asks for my credit card no along with CVV and ATM pin. I am regular user of online transactions and nowhere I was asked for the ATM pin. I suspect it was a fraud and fear someone might misuse it.
